Models do not vanish on a Tuesday.

Apps that hard-code a model id should not 404 overnight. We publish notice, then we keep the old slug hitting a named successor.

The rules

1. 1. Thirty days public notice before we stop serving a model we listed. Notice is a changelog post plus a banner on the model page.
2. 2. Ninety days of successor routing. After removal, the old slug keeps hitting a documented successor. Your hard-coded model field does not 404 while you migrate.
3. 3. Free stays free. A free model that we cannot host for free is deprecated under (1) and (2). We do not bill you when the free lane dies.
4. 4. Weights dying is not silent. If an upstream actually retires a checkpoint, we say so on day zero and start the 30/90 clock.

Slugs we keep on purpose

Character cards and old tutorials pin ids. These stay. The rest of the catalog is on /models.
